I liked this book a lot more! The plot was more intruiging, especially now that the world had been set up. I lovee the political intrigue in this book. It’s one of my favourite things in books and I thought it was done so well! I love how minor characters aren’t just introduced and discarded. They all play a part in the story.
This book was longer and I liked the pacing! It still kept me wanting more but didn’t feel almost rushed like book one. The writing feels so rich and I loved the setting in this one.
I really loved how we got to see the POV of the ‘enemy’ as well. Often times in books it’s all just oh they’re the bad guy they did x, y and z. The only insight we get is their actions and rarely do you get to see their thoughts like this.
Amani: I’ve grown to really like Amani. She’s grown so much, is still growing, and just is so strong as a character.
Shazad: She’s just so strong and bad ass and I love her influence on Amani
Sam: Quite a comical characters and I love the relief he brings
I’m still not over Amani and Shazad! Strong female friendships!!
Still not on board, but I like their dynamic!
