Quarterly Wrap Up! – 2018 (1)

Hey Hey! I thought I’d do a quarterly wrap up today. Just a recap of the books I’ve read and my favourites and what not so far of this year!

As the name suggests, I’ll try to do this quarterly? It’s a bit late so I’ll try to get the next ‘quarterly’ post up sooner ooops haha

Quarterly Wrap Up 2018 (1)

Number of books read so far: 34/50!

I’m really happy with this! Honestly I aim for 100 each year but 100 stresses me out and 50 is much better. So I’m 19 books ahead of schedule and that feels great!

*  Also there are some of the books I’ve read this year!! ^^^

Number of reviews written: 45!

I’ve posted 45 reviews on Goodreads since I finally decided to write reviews!

Average rating: 3.60

Honestly a 3.5 is pretty decent to me (I’ll even read 3 star rated books sometimes) and I rarely give out 5 stars so it makes sense.

Best reviewer: #35 (in Australia)

This is always going up and down so I can’t say much about it but 35 is really good to me!

Highest rated: The Heart Forger

My first and so far only 5 star read of the year! Review here!

Lowest rated: The Hazel Wood

I’ve mentioned this a lot but basically if you want to know why I disliked it I have a review here.

ARCs requested/recevied: 2

I’m not a big enough ‘influencer’ to have physical ARCs sent to me, but I did receive 2 digital copies! (which is really exciting and maybe not a big deal but I’m still screaming)

ARCs received: Ace of Shades + Furyborn

Still need to read and review the latter, but I’m getting to it! My review of Ace of Shades is here!

  • ACOTAR, ACOMAF + ACOWAR by Sarah. J. Mass
  • Passenger by Alexandra Bracken
  • Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levensellar
  • Alex and Eliza by Melissa De La Cruz
  • Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

So that’s my reading year so far!

Talk To Me

What’s a book you’ve rated 5 stars? How’s your reading challenge going? Have you reread any books this year? Have you read any of the books I’ve mentioned? Do you disagree with my ratings? Let me know all your thoughts and opinions!

Until next time,

  1. Congrats on your challenge. You’re killing it!

HA. Mine is slowing down since life has sped up. I wish I were much higher in it though. I cannot believe we’re in April right now.

And I have to agree with you on Hazel Wood. I had a difficult time reading it.

  2. You’re killing it. I manage to fall behind on my reading goal because I ended up in a reading slump back in February so I am currently 5 books behind schedule for my goal of 100.

This year I decided I was going to be more selective with what books I have 5 Stars because I was handing them out left and right before. So far this year I’ve given three 5 stars. One of those being Simon bs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda.

    1. Ah that sucks but there’s still the rest of the year. Good luck with reading!! Ahaha I know what you mean I used to give out 5 stars a lot more, especially because right after you finish a book it feels so amazing, but then I’d start reviewing them and then realise they weren’t quite 5 stars. Ahh I loved SVTHSA and the movie too!!

      1. Yeah I’m not stressing out about it too much yet because I know I have plenty of time to catch up. Yeah exactly i usually don’t rate a book until I sit down to write my review for it and I just realized since I’ve been rating books I’ve given a lot of 5 stars and looking back on some of those reads now I realize I should have rated them lower. I’ve been doing good this year though only giving 3 5 stars but I think they are all deserving. I haven’t gotten to watch Love, Simon yet because it didn’t play in my theater so I’m having to wait for it to come out on DVD.

      2. Ahh hope you love it, it’s such a good movie! Right?! Even now just because my reading preferences are always changing, the books I would’ve loved years ago aren’t that good to me now

    1. I’m a speedy reader ☺️ Some of the books I’ve read have been quite short though! The Wayward Children series, Murder on the Orient Express and Salt to the Sea! Good luck with reading and thank you!!

  3. Wow #35 in Australia! That’s amazing 🤗 and I’m ahead of my reading challenge too, I tend to make my goal lower than I’m capable of because it stresses me out to be behind schedule or like just catching up. Probably not a healthy mindset but oh well lol
